MODEified 3 has officially begun production..today this 15th day of January, 1997. MODEified 3 will be done on CD!! Submissions are being accepted starting now! Order now PLEASE! So that we can get the support we need! READ THIS MESSAGE CAREFULLY...SAVE IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. 1.What is MODEified??? For those of you who are new to the list...MODEified is a not for profit project that BONG has put together twice so far of DM songs...reinterpreted by DM fans all over the world. Everyone and anyone is invited to submit songs for the collection...the first two tapes contained everything from the tape recording in the bathroom session..to very professional sounding stuff. The idea of the tape is nothing more than to create a place where DM fans can come together and share their music... These are done in a non comercial fashion..plain and simple. These tapes/now CDs....are not intended for sale AT ALL!! The price of the CD is COST! and shipping only. Due to the low number of orders...the CDs are more expensive...but no more than any other CD. More on the price below. How do I submit?? Firstly, contact me ASAP and let me know what song you are planning on doing. I will let you know if it is a good one (ie..not done yet), but my advice is only a suggestion..you are free to cover any song you like! Keep in touch with me regarding your progress though. This is not a remix album...do not remix DM songs...redo and reinterpret them. I will assume that every song I get was done from scratch...and I will not ask everyone who submits otherwise...this is my disclaimer. Have fun! This project is just for that! A place to share our enthusiasm! Make the songs yours. Don't feel like you have to be a professional...get your guitar and recorder out and just do it!!! Once you song is done....send it to me. What format should I send the submission in?...Cassette or DAT? Since this one is going on CD...DAT is the preffered submission method. If you submit in DAT form....SEND YOUR SONG ON DAT AND CASSETTE. The cassette can be poor quality....it is not for the recording. I do NOT have a DAT player at home..hence I need the cassette to listen to your song. The DAT will later be sent to Brian Heese to do the final master DAT for the CD. If you do not send a cassette...i can't hear your song. Its that simple. Your DATs will NOT be returned....sorry :) Thats just more expensive. If there is a problem with this....let me know and we can try to work something out...ok? Now, you can submit in cassette form if you have no access to a DAT recorder. The quality will not be very good on a CD though...but we will NOT limit this to the people who have DAT access only. This is for everyone...so please, try your best to get it on DAT...but don't not submit because of it. Where and when do I send it? Rob Augino 7504 Dunbar Rd. Don't forget...I have to have a cassette too. How much will this CD cost? Its important for me to stress that this CD is not being done for profit. No one is to make money with this. The price of the CD is simply to cover the manufacturing costs, packaging, and shipping. I am devoting the time to this ...because it is fun. No other reason...and I want to make sure it all gets done.......right. The CD production will cost about $2000 in all to get the thing produced...that includes all kinds of things beside the CD price (covers, jewel boxes...etc.). So, I estimate we will sell about 150 (I got 160 orders for M2...and it was cheaper). Hence the price each is $13.33. Add on shipping...and a CD shipping box...thats about $15. That may be cutting it close...but I don't want to go over $15....that keeps it affordable for everyone to get one or two. $15 is not much. So the price is going to be $15 even. Now, I will have extra CD's because I have to purchase a minimum...unfortunately it is much more than 150, so I will have CD's for latecomers. Once the production costs are paid for...the extra money (if it even ever gets to this point) will be used for the project only! At first the money will be used to upgrade the quality of the cover, printing on the CD...etc. then....as we did before...any extra funds will provide CD's for those who need help and it will be put away for MODEified 4. Now, I can't get the CD's made until we have enough orders to cover the costs of the discs. So, the faster you guys order, the faster we can get this CD made!!! I would like to have it out by the time the new DM comes out...or around that month...!!! Wouldn't that be great! Two great discs in the same month! Where do I order? I always go out of my way to help anyone I can. Ask anyone on the list, they will vouch for me. So, in your order...include the following info: 1. Payment of $15 USD per CD.(includes shipping and everything) 2. Permanent Address Label ....the address that you will be at through the year (just in case)..the release is a bit unsure...so I want to know where to send the CD to..no matter when it is. 3.Email Address....just in case! 4.Any special notes or info you need/want me to know. 5. If your order is outside of the US...include extra money to ship your CD....Europe is usually 3 to 5 dollars. Australia is about 5 to 8. Asia is around 5 to 8. South America is about 3 to 5. Canada is about 2 dollars. So be sure to include that. Don't forget the label....i will use that label to mail your CD for you. Check those things again before you send your order. Start ordering NOW! Again, I can't get the CD's made until enough orders come in...this project relies on EVERYONES support! I am relying on the DEVOUT ones out there to make this thing happen! This one looks like it is going to be quite professional sounding!!! Lots of contributors got new equipment and are really excited too! When is the ordering deadline? Well, there isn't one now. The bottom line is...the sooner you get your orders to me..the sooner we can make the CD's. So don't dilly dally, get your money to me ASAP! And support this project :) How can I help?
