MODEified IV

Welcome to the MODEified IV information page.
This Project Completed around November of 1998!

The Story

Production of M4 got started right away once the success of M3 was seen! All our hopes of having the edition be released on CD became a reality once it became time to start production of M4. The prices of blank CDs had dropped enough to make the edition affordable enough to get started! This time, we accepted mostly digital submissions too to improve the final product quality greatly!

Also, big at the time was the use of DAT tapes to record in digital format. BRAT decided that he would offer his services once again to allow for those who had DAT capabilities. Me being the techno challenged one, had to request that all DAT submitters also send a cassette with their submission too so that I could listen to the submitted songs as I didn't have the ability to listen to the DAT tapes. A bit embarrassing for the organizer, sure, but I have no shame!

This time around we had a lot more pictures of our artists in motion and the orders in and out list seemed to work great! This edition was the biggest as far as orders go as far as I remember. The printing of the inserts proved to be much easier for all the CDs though. I remember it being quite a hassle to match up the front and back graphics at the print shop. The CD inserts were quite simple and I was certainly glad to be done with the whole cassette thing.

The art came pouring in this time too and it was a tough decision, but I ended up coming around and really liking the old drive in theatre artwork from Strange Too.

All in all it was a ride of interesting proportions and the final result was something we could all truly be proud of. I hope you all enjoyed it too and continue to do so!

My Thanks And Comments from the liner notes..

MY-THANKS....

Ok, its official..this was the biggest MODEified undertaking thus far! After 9 months in production, M4 is finally in the hands of Bongsters all over the world! Not only is this the biggest MODEified yet..but it is the first issued on CD! Many many thanks to the BRAT for his engineering of M4. He turned old tape recordings into near CD sound! It is amazing. Not to mention spruced up every recording on the collection! Also, thanks to Rafi for helping with the CD copying...couldn't have done it without ya. Finally, thanks to everyone for their patience! Computer and personal delays slowed production for 2 months to a standstill. Thanks for the kindness everyone.

We have truly accomplished something with the MODEified series! We remain true to the spirit of the projects, yet improve on ourselves every time! It's not because of me...its you! The help I receive from Bongsters is unparalleled. Our Bong family continues to grow due to projects such as these! New to the MODEified brew is the MP3 homepage! Now the whole MODEified series is available to the world a the click of a button. The projects continue to grow. Next up is a Greatest Hits Compilation, with some new stuff! And then....yup! M5. I must be crazy! As long as there is interest on the list...MODEified will continue.

Now, go draw a bubble bath, kick back, put your feet up, and enjoy MODEified 4. Until next time everyone....Take Care and Peace...
